Music Director, Bass
Jeff’s live playing and recording credentials include names such as Yes, Frank Zappa, Bill Bruford. Allan Holdsworth, Billy Cobham, Issac Hayes, George Benson, k.d. lang, Jermaine Jackson, and Larry Coryell. He is considered by many people to be the finest electric bass player in the world. As a leader, Jeff has 7 CDs to his name and tours the world with his own band. He has single-handedly refined teaching and learning methods for many contemporary players.

Director Of Education, Keyboard
Matt studied piano and composition at Berklee College of Music, The University of Massachusetts and The University of South Florida. He has played and recorded with Celine Dion, John Laporta Rick Derringer, Reeves Gabrels, and The Nelson Riddle Orchestra. He also wrote “Contemporary Harmony: A Practical Approach”, “The Interrelationship of Scale Patterns” and “Sixty Disciplines to Keyboard Freedom”.

Guitar
Peter is one of Tampa Bay's most in demand teachers and guitarists. A native of Denmark, he studied music at the Sankt Annae School and the Jazz Akademiet in Copenhagen. A graduate of The Players School 80 Week Music Program, Peter has also studied with Joe Pass, Mike Stern, Charlie Banacos and Fareed Haque.

Saxophone
Jeremy Powell is a New School University graduate and the 2003 recipient of the John Coltrane scholarship. Jeremy teaches Saxophone and Live Playing Ensemble Course. Jeremy has played professionally with numerous musical groups including the Argentinean big band Mr. Vivo to the Westminster Mass Choir.

Guitar Maintenance
Mick Donner has been building stringed instruments for 27 years, having worked for Washburn, Gibson, Peavey, Parker, and Dean guitars. Association with these companies has afforded him the opportunity to befriend and build instruments for some of the greatest players in the world. He is currently working as an Asian Trade Consultant for the Music Industry, as well as maintaining a private repair business.

Vocals
John William Gomez is internationally regarded as one of the finest operatic tenors to come from Venezuela. He has won notable awards for vocal performance competitions and is considered by many as one of the great lyric tenor sensations of his generation. In addition to his opera works, Gomez made his debut in 2010 as an independent producer releasing his first professional Bolero Latin CD honoring popular boleros from Latin American titled “En Despechos”.

Trumpet
Brian studied at Roosevelt University in Chicago and at NIU with Ron Modell. His music arrangement have been published by UNC Jazz Press. Brian has been a member of Louis Bellson, Woody Herman and Don Sebesky Big Bands, as well as being a top call studio trumpet player for 20 years. Brian teaches arranging, composition and trumpet.

Drums
Tampa native John Zwolski studied latin percussion with Gumbi Ortiz (Al DiMeola) and brings a wealth of academic drum principles to his teaching methods. John studied at the University of South Florida with Steven Davis and the late head of The Players School drum department, David Via.

Bass
Elias studied Music Performance at The Vicente Emilio Sojo Conservatory, Jazz Theory at Lisandro Alvarado University and Music Composition at Ars Nova School of Music in Caracas, Venezuela. Elias teaches Music Principles- Ear Training Analysis and Ensembles. Elias Tona has a long history of live performances and recordings with well renowned latin artists like Jose Luis Rodriguez “El Puma” and Yordano among others.

Bass
Joe Porter is Jeff Berlin’s first choice for bass teacher and main bass sub when Jeff tours. Joe received his bachelor’s degree in Jazz performance and double bass from the University of South Florida. Joe toured with Maynard Ferguson’s band until he returned to Tampa in 2003. Joe is one of the area’s busiest bass players and brings academics and musical experience to his students.
