Requirements
Academic Requirements
You are required to present your High School Diploma or General Education Diploma when you enroll for the 40-Week or the 80-Week Programs. If you do not have either of these, the school will administer an Ability to Benefit Test. The Players School of Music doesn’t prepare students to take any state exams or instruct anyone in a profession that requires licensure.
Auditions & Placement Tests
We do not reject beginners or non-readers. It is our job to teach you, not your job to qualify to learn with us. However, auditions and placement tests are essential to place you in the correct courses. All new students are required to participate in the placement tests, which consists of:
1. A Music Theory Test.
2. A Live Performance Audition.
These evaluations are conducted on the first day of the semester. The Director of Education will evaluate your current level of musical knowledge and playing abilities, and place you accordingly.
